Timothy McCoy - Boston Businessman and Leader

Boston entrepreneur Timothy McCoy is a longtime restaurant operator and community leader. He has spent more than three decades in the restaurant business, starting his career at McDonald’s and working his way up through roles including management trainee, general manager, area supervisor, and operations manager. Timothy McCoy runs several McDonald’s locations in Boston and uses the knowledge and skills he has gained over the years to excel in his businesses.

Since 2000, Timothy McCoy has owned and operated McCoy Associates Inc. and the T. H. McCoy Restaurant Group, which employs over 550 people. His leadership has earned him numerous regional and national McDonald’s awards, including the Operational Excellence Award, People First Award, and Community Engagement Award. He also received the Massachusetts Employer of the Year Award from then-Governor Mitt Romney.

Mr. McCoy earned a BA in sociology and anthropology from Rollins College in 1985. During college, he participated in the Semester at Sea program and sailed around the world twice.

Beyond business, Mr. McCoy has served on the boards of several organizations, including Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern New England, Brooks School, Genesis Foundation for Children, and Merrimack College. His hobbies are boating, fishing, and golf. He is the past International President of Tralee Golf Club, a role that sees him travel to Ireland several times a year.
